Las drogas son sustancias que actúan sobre el sistema nervioso central. Esto provoca cambios que pueden afectar a la conducta, el estado de ánimo o la percepción.

Dependencia psicológica:
Se produce cuando la persona tiene necesidad de consumir la droga para experimentar un estado de placer o para evitar un cierto malestar afectivo.
Dependencia física:
Cuando el organismo se ha habituado a la presencia de la droga y necesita esta sustancia para funcionar con normalidad.
Tolerancia:
Cuando es necesario aumentar la dosis de una droga de consumo habitual para conseguir los mismos efectos que se obtenían con dosis más pequeñas.

Como sucede con otros trastornos y enfermedades, la probabilidad de volverse adicto varía según la persona y no hay un factor único que determine si alguien se convertirá en drogadicto. En general, cuantos más factores de riesgo tiene una persona, más posibilidades tiene de que el consumo de drogas la lleve al abuso y la adicción. Los factores de protección, por su parte, reducen el riesgo de adicción. Los factores de riesgo y de protección pueden ser ambientales o biológicos.
Los factores ambientales son los que se relacionan con la familia, la escuela y el vecindario. Entre los factores que pueden aumentar el riesgo de una persona se cuentan:

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
